Take the BART to the 24th Street / Mission station. Once you come out of the station on Mission, head north. On the right handside--don´t blink or you´ll miss it--is a small Nicaraguan Restaurant called the Red Balloon.

Call me bias but I have come to love and appreciate this cuisine that is a mixture of Carribean, Central American, and Spanish foods. My wife is from Nicaragua and this food is the next best thing to her home cooking. Take your time on the BART to conversate! A conversation that wouldn´t normally take place if you were driving.
