Dessert at Gunther's Quality Ice Cream. The place looks like a cute old school ice cream parlor. I recommend cheesecake on a stick it's chocolate covered, and delicious! It is only $3. Also try fruit freezes, refreshing on a hot day! Frozen banana is only $2.60!





Check out my favorite hidden dive bar, the Pre-Flite Lounge. The place is tucked away, literally under Downtown Plaza! Atmosphere is cool, old 70's falling apart chairs are nice. It has pretty cheap drinks, $3.25 for a very light vodka tonic! There is a jukebox, have a $1, you will get 12 songs! (547 L St, Store 009, Downtown)





Take a look at Sacramento's Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. So much detail was put in making the cathedral : the arches, pillars, dome and the altar! You will wish you will have your wedding here. It's massive, impressive and inspirational!





Take a walk thru history at California State Railroad Museum. The place is really huge with beautiful and old trains. You'll get to walk through the old dining cars and sleeping cars to see how people traveled before airlines! And there are a lot of cool antiques, and themed rooms! IF you date loves trains or history they'll love this! Admission is $8! Worth it!





Catch a flick at Crest Theatre. The Crest is one of those historic places. It has a vibe of an old fashioned theater and all the charm you'd expect from a classic theater. Tickets are $5.50 - students, otherwise it's $8.50! Popcorn and vegan cookies are $1! No one can beat that!





Take your date to Fairytale Town. This place is adorable and affordable! Feel like a kid once again! Everything is so cute and incorporated into a fairy tail! There are plenty of benches where you can watch kids have the Zacke of their life! Admission is $4.50 for adults, bring a kid with you!





Dive bar at Marie's Crisis! The place is paradise for musical theater lovers! It is tiny and they have an intimate piano bar! Drinks are cheap(3 huge tequila shots for only $13) and the crowd is priceless! (59 Grove St, between Bleecker St & S 7th Ave, New York)





Stroll through Sutter's Fort State Historic Park. The place is historical. They have mounted audio tours, as you near a room motion sensors detect your presence and starts the audio for the room automatically! Full of tidbits and history! The Fort is a great slice of American and California History! Admission is $4!





Ice cream madness at Osaka Ya. This is a cute little Japanese store that sells some baked goods/desserts, Japanese snacks and a little freezer section! Has both hot and cold food, bento boxes etc! Try their Mochi and Manju which are HUGE and is only $1.10 a piece! It's really delicious, you will want to order more!





Get out of the city and make your way to William Land Park. This park is beautiful, huge, & entertaining! Pack a picnic or even better have a BBQ in the picnic areas. There is a kiddy wading pool, 2 lakes full of fowl and fish, a beautiful rock garden and so much more! (4000 S. Land park Drive, Sacramento)





Coffee n Cookie date at Chocolate Fish Coffee. It is an inZackate cafe with excellent coffee and cookies! A small coffee is $1.85 - a small chocolate aftertaste every Zacke you took a sip! Cookies are $1.50 about 5 inches across, they are pretty tasty, try peanut butter and oatmeal raisin cookies!





Take your date to experience Paris Cafe Rolle. The walls are adorned with popular French posters and huge picture of Guy Fieri! It is tiny and cozy! They have small plates of generous servings of duck pate, chilled salmon and tender prawns on lentils! Salmon is a must try! $5 a plate! Or try Stacy's Favorite - $9.50 (Thin slices of tender warm roast beef, caramelized onion & creamy melted brie cheese with garlic aioli.)





Spend Zacke at Raley Field. Raley field has great local baseball! It has all the feel and excitement of a pro-game! You can bring kid's drinks and bottled water, lawn seat is $7! Food runs from $3.50-$6!





Lunch at Bud's Buffet. I love the Roast beef! It is on a French roll, with brown dripping gravy on the side. Have a sandwich, a bag o'chips and 20 oz. soda for only $11! A sandwich and a drink would only be $8! (1016 10th St, Downtown)





Take your date out for the amazing food at La Flor De Michoacan. Their pride is the Pupusas which is only $2.45! They have different flavors of chicken, cheese, and jalapeno. It is Spicy, succulent and scrumptious! (2339 Northgate Blvd, Natomas)

A must see for all, California State Capitol Museum. You can start by having a picnic at the gorgeous gardens beside the building, then go to the front doors and learn history for FREE! Check out rooms of the governor's / treasurer's etc a century ago! There is also a guided tour with heaps of interesting stuff!





Take your date out to Pangaea Two Brews Cafe for a chilled out afternoon session. You'll be able to enjoy some light grub and beer. Jamaican Lager is $3 or split a bottle of champagne!





Have you checked out the Nordstrom Cafe as a date? The menu is affordable, the most expensive item is $11 and the food is delicious. Try Chicken fingers( real chicken breast), kettle chips, raisins, fresh fruit (very fresh) and milk for only $5! Or try Chinese Chicken Salad, it's delicious! (1651 Arden Way, Sacramento)





Meet your date at the Temple Coffee House for something a little different. The place is a picture definition of an indie coffee house. They have a unique menu with Mexican hot chocolate, Vietnamese coffee and Thai coffee! Mexican Hot Chocolate is the best! It is around $4!

Catch up for Coffee at Peet's Coffee & Tea. This place has a fantastic ambiance, it is very window centric, so tons of morning light comes in, it showers the entire store with natural sunlight that makes the whole place glow! Their coffee and espresso is much better than Starbucks and Java City!





Mexican Lunch date at El Abuelo - Super Tortas Chilangas. The famous Cuubana Tortas - huge (can feed 2 people), has breaded beef, ham, chorizo, hotdogs, fried egg, cheese, mayo, avocado! It is only $7.50! So delicious! (5045 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento)

Take your date to Old Soul at 40 Acres to try the Brie and Pork Sandwich - it's sooo is amazing! It is made fresh on a ciabatta bread, plenty of tender, thinly sliced pork, good brie, apples, caramelized onions and Dijon! With a side salad with a nice tasting vinaigrette! It is a huge food for only $ 7! Coffee is around $2.25, $1 for refill! Deal!





Taste the Vietnamese experience at Quan Nem Ninh Hoa. Try their house special : Dac Biet Nem Nuong, It is like build your own spring roll with the fresh ingredients they provide : veggies, thin crispy eggroll, some meat (beef or pork). Mediterranean dining at Maalouf's Taste of Lebanon. Their food is delicious, the portions are incredibly generous, and the vibe is friendly and casual! Try Falafel Sandwich, it is delicious, filling, massive and served in 2 Pitas! It comes with a side of hummus and the falafel is nothing like you ever tasted before and it is only $8!





Chillin' at the Bonn Lair. The place is a great for a date if your date is into beer! The beer list is solid with a good amount on draught! And you'll have no problem ordering a pizza next door at La Trattoria Bohemia and bringing it over. (3651 J St, Sacramento)





Float away down American River Parkway. Float down the river for 4-6 hours, awesome scenery but make sure you pack sunscreen. Along the banks, you can dock your boat/raft for a swim or sun bathe.





Make it a date with your mate and your pets at Partner Park. The place is grassy, lots of hills and plenty of space for your pets to get tired out! Have fun with other friendly people in the area with their pets as well!





Order burgers at Taylor´s Automatic in the Ferry Building, share your fries. Maybe order a PBR to go with it. Once you have eaten, take a stroll along the Embarcadero and enjoy the lovely sights along the bay.





Breakfast dates are simply the best! You've got to try breakfast at Jim-Denny's. They have meals less than $7! Try this : a HUGE pancake, 3 egg omelet, add $2 so you can get 12 toppings (bacon, sausage, pepper, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, cheese and so on) in your egg omelet! The pancakes are really gigantic and so are the omelets! Only $10!





Go vegetarian at Happy Go Lucky Vegetarian Cuisine. Try the $6.50 meal - get soy meat, steamed veggies and brown rice! Vegetarian is super tasty! And the brown rice is surprisingly perfect! (Corner of I & 8th, Downtown)





Muffin Lovers make it a muffi-licious date!, delicious muffins at Mighty Kong Muffins. They have 2 sizes of muffins : 2oz and 4oz! $1 and $2.50 respectively! They are low carb, low sugar and low fat! Yum!





Go people watching at Southside Park. Watch kids go frolicking in the playground. Feed the ducks, remember to bring some bread! This place also has an amphitheater and beautiful & majestic elm trees! It's peaceful - a nice chilled out date. (2115 6th St, Downtown)





Pinball Date Idea at the dive bar, Round Corner Tavern. This place is the epitome of a dive bar! They have $2 PBRs! They also have a jukebox and 2 pool tables! Try 2 tacos and a Sierra Nevada for only $4.50! (2333 S St, Midtown)





Go to Au Lac Veggie. Nothing on the menu is more than $7! And the portions are huge. During Mon-Fri, they have lunch dishes for $4.95, you get spring rolls, soup of the day, rice and an entree! Choose Mongolian "chicken" and the veggie deluxe! (3500 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento)





Make it a Pupusas date at La Flor Pupusas Grill! Their Pupusas are the bomb and only $2, which is a bargain price jam packed with cultural experience! The yucca and plantain dishes are $6 each and the portions are generous! Also try the beef enchilada plate, it is heaven for only $6.75 a plate! (2440 Fulton Ave, Arden-Arcade)





You'll get great Mexican food at Dos Coyotes! The salsa bar has it all: from hot salsa, chopped peppers, onions and black bean with corn! Try the Tres taco: you will get 1 Steak (flavorful), 1 chicken, 1 mahi (a must have, very tender with salsa sauce). Only $7.50. Highly recommended!





I love the Pizza at Romas Pizzeria. Roma's pizza is different because of its crust - it's huge and so doey! A small pizza is enough for 2 people and the large pizza costs only $17, you will have a hard Zacke eating it all!





Head out for live music at Old Ironsides. A great place to catch live bands! They have Tuesday special on the menu, the tri-trip plate with bleu cheese sauce, mashed potatoes, spinach, bacon, it costs $13.95! Beer on a Saturday night is $2! Awesome!





Make it a Breakfast Date at Capitol Casino Cafe. Order for 2: 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausages, Belgian Waffle Combo! Your plates will come out overflowing with food for less than $15! They also have a great steak and eggs special for about $7 at noon! (411 N 16th St, Sacramento)





YU-UM!!! Mexican/American food at Alonzo's Coffee Shop. This place has been around for 40+ years. It has pure comfort food and a cozy setting! Hard to beat is a steaming bowl of deep red pozole: chock full of pork chunks and hominy grits, shredded cabbage, onions, salsa on the side! Pure bliss at $7.75! (5649 Stockton Blvd, Downtown)





Play like kids at Funderland Amusement Park. Go on a weekday, its a lot less crowded! They have jungle gym like rides, crawl through, oversized punching bags that you could slam into, jump houses and lots more! They have cotton candy and candy popcorn! $15 gets you a book of 10 tickets (1 ticket per ride, per person).
