No.3 - Art Gallery Opening or Photography Exhibition

Art or photography is an excellent intro to a first date! It’s basic, no fuss and most importantly makes YOU look interesting.

Don’t go over the top with this date idea – you definitely don’t need to be an expert on the art or photography displayed.

This is what we at $30 Date Night would do to make this date amazing:

Art Gallery / Photography exhibition is a really classy way to kick off a First Date. Here are some considerations before you take a date out:

Remember, you’ll want to do a dessert only date straight after the Art / Photography date idea.

1. If you can find a gallery opening or exhibition opening, they’ll usually serve free Champagne and nibbles – sweet! If not, you’ll want to get your date something to eat later in the night, or move straight to the dessert only date idea.

2. You definitely don’t need to be an expert on art or photography – if you happen to have good knowledge of the art share it but leave room for your date to speak, ask questions and even formulate their own opinion.

3. If neither of you are into art - make up some funny interpretations of the works.

4. Check your local guide – newspapers or even community guide on line – they will be up to date regarding the latest exhibitions and openings.

In Acland St, St Kilda (Melbourne, AUS) the Linden postcard exhibition is on. it has hundreds of small works of art and is a great way to spend some time. Its free entry, and the art is very affordable (although not quite within the $30 budget)
