Planning the Fruit Picking Date Idea - this is what we'd do at $30 Date Night

Sun-kissed orchards of ripened fruits, flowing white dresses and greenery as far at the eye can see… there is definitely something inherently romantic about fruit picking among the trees and the vines. Spend a day in the countryside stocking your picnic basket!

STEP 1 - FRUIT SEASON - Fruits are obviously seasonal. Summertime will yield you lush berries and juicy stone fruits, while wintertime is great for apple orchards and yummy pears. The good thing about fruit farming is that there will be several different types all within close proximity of each other.

STEP 2 - BE PERFECTIONIST - The wonderful thing about picking your own fruits is that you can be as particular as you like. There is nothing more wonderful that selecting only the ripest, juiciest, most perfect specimens from the trees and vines. Take your time and hunt out the perfect pieces!

STEP 3 - After your drive out to the countryside, you can either find a lovely secluded spot for a picnic and feast on your spoils, or head home and whip all that lovely fruit up into cakes, jams, pies or more together. Chocolate dipped strawberries, blueberry muffins and apple pies make for wonderful love-food that you can share over a glass of wine or a coffee once cooked.
