I was lucky enough to find this video in my web travels last night (thanks to Sarah Prout for sharing it) and I just had to post it here for everyone because this is a story that should be told. It’s sad (you’ve been warned – grab a Kleenex before you hit play) but also incredibly beautiful.
It’s been recorded by StoryCorps who since 2003 have been collecting people’s stories from all over America – they have 60,000 so far – with the mission of providing Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of our lives.
The stories about love are the ones that always get me the most. Like this one:
Danny Perasa and his wife, Annie, came to StoryCorps to recount their twenty-seven-year romance. As they remember their life together from their first date to Danny’s final days with terminal cancer, these remarkable Brooklynites personify the eloquence, grace, and poetry that can be found in the voices of everyday people when we take the time to listen.

Writer, dating columnist, wife, coffee addict, foodie, fashionista... Melburnian through and through. Muser, dancer, blogger, tweeter. Likes to get her head on telly now and again. Sleeper, dreamer, a sucker for romance. And of course... a cheap date.
Em, that was beautiful! I shared it all over and I’m going to send it to my husband.
Make sure you warn him! Even my husband shed a few tears. It’s pretty touching. Glad you liked it. x
Thanks for the mention Emma! Danny and Annie made me cry too. It’s a beautiful story indeed.
Hope all is well. Cheers, Sarah
Absolutely beautiful !
