How Much Time Do Couples Spend Together?
Wow – what a week! Spring has kicked off here in Melbourne with a plethora of gourmet food and high end fashion events and Den and I have barely seen each other since last Wednesday! (oh, and I’m obliged to do that thing here that EVERY blog advice site you read tells you NOT to do and that’s apologize to you, dear readers, for lack of posts!) Any interaction between Den and I has been a peck on the cheek, a hug on the couch while watching TV during which Den falls asleep, then he gets up early to do his thing and I’ve been sleeping in (even moreso than usual) from exhaustion of being out of the house helping at events… the only night we will spend in each other’s company this week will be date night on Friday (yay! Date night!) and the rest of the time we’re off gallivanting around doing separate things, then Den goes on holiday for a week and leaves me to watch the fort…
Which is fine. Den and I usually spend so much time in each other’s company that we tend to socialize completely separately anyway… living, working AND hanging out together 24/7 would get a bit much anyway. Too much of a good thing and all that!
But it got me thinking … how much time do you people out there get with your sweetie? In between busy careers and social lives, how often do you get to see your lover? Do you have date night regularly to ensure quality time once a week? Do you pass like ships in the night on completely different schedules? Do you socialize in the same circles? Do you live in each other’s pockets and love it?

Update: In the interest of finding out what is “normal” I stumbled across this interesting information
The Office for National Statistics finds that on average we spend two to two-and-a-half hours a day together, including weekends.
“And what do we do when we’re alone with our loved ones? Watch TV (one third of all the time spent together), eat (30 minutes) and do housework together (24 minutes). Whoopee. Married people spend half an hour more together than people who cohabit. Retired couples spend only four hours a day together. Are they avoiding each other?”

I spend 2 days with my partner every 3-4 weeks. But I live in Melbourne and he lives in Perth so that’s why. But since we’ve been living apart, the time spent together is quality time and just for the both of us.
i spend only 2 days a week wit my BF ; but he works all the time !

I spend only 2-4 days per week with my husband due to our work shifts.
Sometimes I wish that I could spend more time with him like most couples, but at the same time I’m also glad that we have our own spaces… hence we do not fight that much!

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a
sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said
“You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her
ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off
topic but I had to tell someone!
