Love Plug: Old-fashioned Telegrams

Plugging great products and services for couples….

TelegramStop.com

How cute is this idea?! Send your sweetie a quaint, old-fashioned telegram love note from the guys at Telegramstop.com. Just type in your message and presto! a telegram will arrive on their doorstep like magic.

These telegrams cost less than $5USD, anywhere in the world, they look and feel just like the original ones and I just can’t stop thinking of the verbal telegram Liesl sends Rolf in the Sound of Music (before we realise he’s a Nazi, that is): “Dear Rolf: Stop. Don’t stop! Your Liesl.” the one he sends her is even funnier – “Dear Liesl. Stop. I’d like to tell you how I feel about you. Stop. Unfortunately, this wire is already too expensive. Sincerely, Rolf.”

So, what are you waiting for? Your sweetie will adore a telegram from you!

Just to clarify, telegrams haven’t stopped. Western Union’s telecommunications network circuits were sold off in the 1980s to MCI. The telegram service is now run by International Telegram (iTelegram). Customers can place telegrams using the iTelegram web site or through a phone operator.

    Telegram operator (Int’l): 00 +800 TELEGRAM

Wow! I had no idea that telegrams still existed!

    I sound like a dumb blonde now… :)

    Thanks for sharing, Telegram Service.

There you go, readers! No excuses now! Go send your lover a telegram…

Checked out iTelegram and i can see why western union sold it, awful cheezy designs.

And I can see why Telegramstop works in reviving this form of communication, great user experience and classic design. I sent a few and the girlfriend loved it.
